The Digital Library is proud to present this stunning virtual archive of 280 rare, out-of-print books compiled together for the first time in one unique library and covering all aspects of NAPOLEON & THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO.
This stunning collection has been divided into two sub-collections – the first contains almost 200 books on Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of the French. Often considered one of the greatest commanders in history, his wars and campaigns are studied at military schools worldwide. He led France during the Napoleonic wars and came to dominate European and global affairs for over a decade. This huge compilation reveals all that there is to know about France’s most famous emperor – his life, character, struggles and achievements – not only as an emperor but also as a soldier and a husband.
The second collection deals with The Battle of Waterloo and Napoleon’s final defeat at the hands of an Anglo-led Allied army led by The Duke of Wellington and the Prussian commander Gebhard Leberecht von Blucher. This battle is often seen as an important turning point which dictated world history, up until the outbreak of the 1st World War 100 years later. It ended the First French Empire and as well as the political and military career of one of the worlds greatest leaders and was followed by several decades of peace throughout Europe.
Some of the books contained within this collection are extremely hard-to-find and will provide a valuable library of reference material. Overall, an absolute must for anyone with an interest in Napoleon Bonaparte, the Napoleonic wars, European history and the battle of Waterloo. The full list of titles included speaks for itself….
